Course - Auto 2 - Introduction to Automotive Locksmithing 2-- (1Hr. 59 Min.)
We have had many requests to make a course dealing with the skills needed to be an automotive locksmith. This Course, Auto 2, is in response to those requests. Auto 2, builds on the skills that were presented in the Auto 1, Course. It is not totally necessary but it is suggested you view Auto 1 before viewing Auto 2.
Auto 1 focused on making keys for cars where all of the locks were original and in good working condition. Quite often locksmiths receive calls where the ignition lock is not working or it is not an original lock. Auto 2 teaches skills that will help in these situations.
Automotive locksmithing is a very large subject and it is not realistic to think that a person could watch a 45 minute course and begin work in this field. Consequently, Auto 1
is nearly FOUR HOURS l
ong
and Auto 2 is TWO HOURS
. Auto 2 is the second in the LocksmithDVD automotive locksmithing series. Auto 3 is currently in production. We believe Auto 1 covers enough material that it will allow a person to get started working in this field. Please Note:
Automotive locksmithing is not easy for everyone.
This field of work requires a great deal of knowledge and skill. Some people pick up on these skills right away and other people have difficulty. It depends on how mechanically skilled a person is. If you already know how to decode locks and impression locks you will have an advantage. If you don't have these skill you may want to purchase our basic program, Courses 1-8, and learn those skills first.
After completing this course you will have the basic skills needed to do automotive locksmithing. Most of the examples in this course focus on Ford, Mercury, & Lincoln vehicles. However, many of the skills apply to all makes and models. This course does not cover high security autos. Those skills will be covered in a later course.
The Auto 1 course starts with the very basics and goes through how to actually program a transponder key to a car. This course, Auto 2, presents more advanced skills. The course does not cover high security keys. That topic will be covered in a later course.
If you master the skills presented in Auto 1 and Auto 2 you should be able to accept a large amount of automotive locksmith work.
One or two jobs can pay for both courses.
Auto 2 covers a great deal of material. Following are some of the things you should be able to do after viewing the film. Most of our courses present so much material that it will probably be necessary to view the video several times to get all of what is presented.
