The modern pin tumbler lock is based on a design that was patented in 1848 by Linus Yale who is credited with the invention of the modern pin tumbler lock.  This Course explores the intricacies of the cylindrical pin tumbler lock and how to pick them open.  An in-depth knowledge of this lock is essential as they are the most common type of locks in use today.  This video will provide you with the knowledge you will use on about half of the calls you receive.  This is the most common call received by most locksmiths, the customer cannot find their keys or have locked their key inside.  Opening locks without a key is a crucial skill for locksmiths.
